How does the customization process work?
STEP 1: Choose the model
Which model out of our collection would you like to customize? Have a look at our models and choose. Would you like some advice? Margriet is more than happy to help.
Do you have your own design of would you like a replica of your worn favorite bag? We will make it happen.
STEP 2: Choosing leather & details
Do you have a specific color in mind? Would you like an additional pocket? Longer straps or another requests? You ask and we sew.

STEP 3: Send your requests to Margriet
Clear on what you would like? Tell Margriet all about it, here. She will send you a free of charge proposal with all the possibilities. Would you prefer to meet in the atelier? Not a problem, please state so on the form.

How wonderful would it be to have your own design come to life? Did you know, Margriet also makes bespoke bags? Specially for you. And it makes her so happy. And you will be happy too, because you won’t get buyer’s remorse. It will be exactly what you have envision and or looked for all this time.

We will team up with Uncoverlab to make sure your design will be lasered onto the leather.
Customize
Are you looking for a specific bag that is slightly different than the ones available? Look no further, monsak has got your back. All our handmade bags can be adjusted slightly to make the bag feel like you. Think of adjustments such as an additional zip pocket or a different type of strap. We call this customizing. And you get to go about your life accompanied by a bag that has a personal touch. Do you have a dream bag in mind? Or are you unable to find your dream bag or is your current dream bag all worn? Let us make you your bespoke bag. You decide. How cool is that?!
Customized monsak bag
The monsak collection is a fixed one. We have several models within our collection, but you can always customize the bags. You can customize it by adding an additional zip pocket, your initials, multiple straps, different colors et cetera. This way you can ensure that the monsak bag becomes your favorite bag.
Bespoke bag
We are all unique and we all have different wants and needs. Do you have a vision but don’t know how to go about making it happen? You and monsak will become a dream team and together we will make your vision come to life. Is your current favorite bag all worn? Margriet will happily make you a new and improved one. That process will start once we’ve properly said goodbye to your old bag ;).
Eco-leather bags
All our bags are handmade in our atelier in Amsterdam. All with low impact on the environment and animal. We do so by using environmentally friendly leather, which we call rescued leather. Rescued leather is leather that has been discarded by big brands – within the fashion, automotive and interior industry – and we give it a new life. The leather is discarded because of the color or small imperfections. At monsak we cut around the imperfections and we have ever-changing colors within our fixed collection, making each bag a one of a kind and minimizing the chances of bumping into someone with the same exact leather bag.
Aside from environmentally friendly materials, we make sure our bags are delivered in a sustainable manner. monsak has partnered with fietskoeriers.nl to make sure that your package is delivered to you by bike or by electric carrier.
We want you to enjoy your bag for years to come and that is why we spray the bag before sending it to you. And we offer a lifetime guarantee on your leather bag. Workshops making a leather bag Amsterdam
Would you like to make a bag? Join one of our workshops to learn how to make your own leather bag. We offer two different workshops, the mini and the maxi. During the mini you will make a leather crossbody bag or a fanny pack; the perfect companion for every festival or party. During the maxi you get to make either a tote bag or a backpack; perfect for school or work. Not sure if you are able to follow along? Don’t worry, we will guide you through the process, step by step. Even people with two left hands can follow along. The workshops are also great for those with a bit more experience, because leather is an easy and beautiful material to work with. And best of all is that you get to go home with your own, one-of-a-kind handmade bag.
Would you like to get crafty from the comfort of your home? We offer several DIY-projects. With these projects you get to make your own (glasses)pouch or bag (small). We will send you the material and pattern and you can get crafty with the help of an instruction video.
